A person in a formal white uniform with badges, suggesting a service role.

Chief Kenny Ward comes to our organization from Oklahoma. Chief Ward began his fire service career in 1981 with City of Guthrie Fire & EMS. Kenny was promoted through the ranks and ended his time with the organization as Fire Chief/EMS Director, prior to becoming Fire Chief with City of Altus Fire & Rescue. After spending 7 years in Altus, Chief Ward retired from the state of Oklahoma and took on another role as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director, but this time in the great state of Texas for the City of Greenville. The years spent away from the Fire Service, Chief Ward gathered valuable experience and education with his career as an environmental, health and safety director with private agencies. During his career change, Chief Ward realized how much he missed the fire service and began searching for new opportunities to return and reignite his passion. In 2019, Chief Ward made his return to the Fire Service when he took on the role of Fire Chief for the City of Parson’s in Kansas, followed by filling the role of Fire Chief for the city of Coffeeville, prior to coming to us at East Grays Harbor Fire/Rescue. Throughout his years in the service Chief has obtained many job-related certifications and continues to be passionate about training, continuing his education, along with community involvement and public education.
